Set of 6 Harvey Probber Caned Back Dining Chairs
Set of 6 dining chairs designed by Harvey Probber circa 1960s. These chairs feature a mahogany frame, curved and caned back rests, and long tapered legs. The current upholstery boasts multicolored thin stripes on a textured white background with hints of black threading that add dimension to the fabric.
Dimensions - 19.75ʺW × 21.5ʺD × 35.5ʺH
Condition Details - These chairs are vintage so a base level of wear is to be expected. The wood frames have scuffs, dents, and scratches. There is a gouge on the back of one of the chairs (pictured). There is a minor break in one of the chair’s caning, but overall the caning is in good condition. All of the backs of the chairs have paint marks on them from sitting against a wall at some point (pictured). Seat cushions have been reupholstered at some point although there is some staining. One of the legs seems to be very loose or perhaps damaged and may need repaired (pictured). We recommend restoration and regluing all the chairs and their frames. Please see photos for full details.
