Set of 4 1940s Paulo Buffa Dining Chairs
1940s Cuban mahogany chairs designed by Paolo Buffa. The wooden backrests, reminiscent of sculpturally shaped wings, and curved lines create an elegant silhouette. These chair have long tapered legs and curvy feet. Chairs are covered in a tan leather hide with brass brads/nail heads. These chairs are a perfect example of the sensible designs from the 1940s which explored a fusion between the futurist and the classical.
Dimensions - 20”W x 21.25”D x 35.25”H
Seat height 17.5” and seat depth is 18”
Condition Notes - There are signs that these chairs may have been reupholstered and repaired at some point in their lifetime. The currently upholstery has scuffs, marks, and light cracking in the leather (normal wear and tear/use of leather). The frames are in good vintage condition with scratches, scuffs and wear throughout The chair as it sturdy as-is. Please see photos for full condition details.
